The compat6x-amd64 port installs 64 bit libncurses.so.6 but not 32 bit version.  This same port installs other 32 bit compatiblity libraries.

Install the port.

Workaround is to ftp the file from the compat6x-i386 port and copy to /usr/local/lib32/compat manually.
