Yes. Linux binaries see exactly the same environment as FreeBSD
binaries.

The best way to get it in is to submit a PR with an URL or the
patches/files themselves and optionally find a friendly "volunteer" on
the ports mailinglist to close out the PR (ie commit it) if you're in a
hurry :-)
