I'll bet any amount of small pocket change that it's a scripted answer they give out the first time you ask a question. Have you done it? Cable modems can be flakey, and resetting them is occasionally required. Have you tested basic network connectivity? Do you get all the proper lights on both your NIC and the cable modem?
