 If you have WIHTOU_NLS= defined, that's the cause.
 
 Unsetting it in /etc/make.conf fixes the build, as well as adding -lintl 
 to the .else.
 
 
 .if !defined(WITHOUT_NLS)
 CONFIGURE_ENV+= LDFLAGS="-L${LOCALBASE}/lib ${PTHREAD_LIBS} -lintl"
 .else
 CONFIGURE_ENV+= LDFLAGS="-L${LOCALBASE}/lib ${PTHREAD_LIBS}"
