Heh - I too have had servers that had the nice little catch-22 of you couldn't read a CD in them so you had to do an FTP install - but the current freebsd release didn't have a working ethernet driver for the embedded nic on the server, so while you could boot the server with a floppy, you couldn't install freebsd on it.
