Hello Bert,

Under FreeBSD, StarOffice-5.x, as well as other applications (eg the=20
bloated Acrobat Reader 4), runs in Linux emulation.

By the way, I downloaded the relevant (Linux) files from the Sun site;=20
they live in the appropriate directories --=20
/usr/ports/distfiles/staroffice5[2].

If you mount the StarOffice-5.1 CD under /cdrom, the ports mechanism=20
should do its job as usual, as a quick look at the related Makefile=20
confirms.

AFAICS, StarOffice 5.2 has a better support for M$ formats.

<disclaimer>

I run this kind of applications under 4-STABLE (source-updated from a=20
3.3-R).

AFAIR, StarOffice 5.1 worked under 3.3-R, and it will probably work=20
under 3.2-R.

</disclaimer>

HTH,
Salvo
