According to Joel Ray Holveck: > Why does setting the baud rate of a (wired tty) connection to 0 > terminate it? When is this useful? Historical behaviour. [] It was an easy way to get a modem to drop the line. The old AT&T modems of about 20 years ago would drop the line if you set the baud rate to zero. You could also use this to disconnect users at terminals, with stty 0 > /dev/tty15 - could be fun when you're bored. ;-} Vince To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hackers" in the body of the message
