Come to think of it, I see similar issue with /dev. I don't have sio
listed in /dev, but I happily use it with tip (tip -19200 sio0). I do
have ttyd0 and cuaa0 in /dev though.

Sio seems to be detected fine ...

sio0 port 0x3f8-0x3ff irq 4 on acpi0
sio0: type 16550A
