If you're going to take this discussion (and similar ones) off
the -hackers list, please announce that here and make it
possible for others to know where to follow the discussions.

Even if I can't influence what happens, it makes my job of
getting my customers moved to FreeBSD much easier if I don't
have to deal with too many surprises at each new release.
