Assuming you have the standard mail setup: You need to get a POP client to read your mail off of your mail server and onto your local box. Netscape's Mail component can do this. The programs `popclient' and `fetchmail' can grab mail off of your POP server and put it into your local mail spool; they are in the ports tree in the mail category (Http://www.freebsd.org/ports/mail.html).
