You may also want to check /var/log/messages and do a "df -k" to see if you're running out of space on the partition that /var/spool/mqueue resides on. To check the current status of queued undelivered mail issue the "mailq" command. If there is mail setting in the queue you can try to resend it by running "sendmail -q" as root. You can watch /var/log/messages and /var/log/maillog to see if any weird errors are popping up. If you're running X windows you can "tail -f /var/log/maillog" in another xterm before before reprocessing queued mail to see what is going on.
