Company information: Our client is a well funded start-up in the red hot field of network security and vulnerability assessment. This is a high profile position with tremendous upside growth and the opportunity to directly impact the key component of the company’s core technology.    
Location:  Bay Area 
Position: Sr. Security Consultant, Business Development and Alliances
 
Responsibilities; Specific domain expertise in security and network security in particular. 
The Sr. Security Consultant will work closely with the Director, Partnerships and Alliances. The Security Consultant's main mission will be to support the Business Development organization in all technical/security matters regarding partner qualification, recruitment/selection and support/development.   In this multi-faceted role, the security consultant will:
 
· Serve as main technical contact and “sales engineer” during the company’s considering client’s  during the evaluation and selection process (often similar to a traditional sales process)  
· Present company’s advantages and technology details to a wide variety of senior-level audiences, including practice directors and CSOs.
· Answer and educate partners and prospects on issues ranging from features, specifications and functionality to integration strategies and approaches. In this role, the Security Engineer will be very conversant with networking applications and security solutions. 
· Serve as lead technical contact for existing partnerships, working closely with the technical support team and engineering to answer, elevate and resolve partner’s technical issues. 
· Assist in identifying and qualifying potential partnerships from a technical and solution fit standpoint.  
· Assist identified partners with post-sales training, and develop partner-specific training material.
· Work closely with partner CSO, CIO and senior security staff to determine needs and facilitate demo and engagement usage.
· Work with other MSSP (Managed Security Solution Providers) to establish Company as the prime vendor/provider. These include, Cisco, IBM, verisign, INS, Symantec, AT&T, Ardent
· Three main target markets are;
A)      Big 4, large consulting and security firms
B)      MSSP companies
C)      Credit card and eBusiness companies
 
In addition, the Security Consultant will work closely with product marketing and engineering organizations to 1) design and prioritize partner-specific product/solution functionality and 2) develop (but not implement) partner technology integration strategies.  
 
Qualifications
This candidate should have a strong understanding of network security and vulnerability assessment in particular.  This person should also have a good understanding of security consulting, penetration testing and hacking methodologies.  Strong communication and presentation skills, as well as a service orientation are a must. This candidate should also have hands-on experience in architecting security solutions, enjoy working with partners and potential partners and be able to travel 35% of the time.   Previous security consulting and/or technical sales experience for a security solutions company is highly desirable.
