Ah, yes!  I do have these set.  I guess rxvt must be setting them?

IMHO, libslang provides a better experience than ncurses with mutt.
However, the need to have these environmental variables set may indeed
be a stumbling block.

Admittedly, I'm not willing to do the work now to figure out `who'
is/should be setting COLORTERM/COLORFGBG in time for 4.6-RELEASE, so I
guess I'll let sleeping dogs lie for now :-)
