Works for my on RELENG_5 and RELENG_6.  I haven't noticed any slowness
in RB or any other gstreamer-based application.  Please define the exact
nature of the problem.  What does "sloppy" mean in this sense?

Note: you may have to change our gst output sync from esd to OSS (or
vice versa) for better performance.
