I don't think you can, I did it under Linux. As for recreating, no, you
simply turn it on and off (although it escapes me what tool to use,
possible mkext2fs, the man page shows how to do it)

Sorry for being so vague, it's been some time since I did it and I don't
have anymore Linux partitions.
