Mike,	

if you want to get FreeBSD in ISO format  then go to
ftp://ftp3.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/  in here go to ISO directory
and download
if you want to get FreeBSD with separate packages then just go to same link
and go to other directory instead of ISO directory

Install from DOS (by what i tried before), you just need boot disk and
install 
make sure you can access to your cdrom if you install from cdrom

check out www.freebsd.org.  they have a getting start document there
