Purchased the 4-CDRom Walnut Creek set of FreeBSD 3.4 2-3 weeks ago.
Attempting to install on the following hardware:

ISA/PCI/VLB motherboard w/AMD K5 133mhz CPU
48MB Ram
Adaptec 2940 SCSI controller
Micropolis model 4345ns SCSI 4GB hard drive
Sony CDU-76S SCSI CDRom
3Com 3C509 NIC

Installed in the following manner:
Created boot floppies from CDRom.
Booted from floppies.
Started kernel config in full-screen visual mode.
Storage drivers: Floppy disk controller
Network driver: 3C509 Ethernet adapter
Novice installation
Used entire disk for install (No other OS)
Leave the Master Boot Record untouched
Set partition selection to Auto Defaults
Set "canned" distribution selection to '6 X-User'
Answered 'Yes' to 'install DES cryptographic software?'
Next selected 'Basic DES encryption services'
Choose 'Basic' under 'XFree 3.3.5 Distribution'
Selected '1 CDROM' as installation media

Install then started.
Partitions created successully.
Step 'extracting bin into / directory' completed without a hitch. (about 30
min.)

After reboot the following appears on the monitor:

BTX loader 1.00 BTX version is 1.01
Console: internal video/keyboard
BIOS driveA: is disk0
BIOS driveC: is disk1

FreeBSD/i386 bootstrap loader, Revision 0.7 639/48128kB

It does not appear to be creating a kernel.

Any suggestions? Your help is appreciated.
