After having only the briefest of glances at the two pages, it seems that there are at least lots of options left undescribed in our own homegrown version of the manual. I'd say that, for now, we should install the vendor's page (after parsing, of course). If I (or someone else) manage to get around to updating the homegrown version, then we can switch back to installing that instead. Ciao, Sheldon.
