I followed the suggestions of many, and now I think I've figured out how to switch paths. I've even figured out how to change shells. Whee. Now getting ppp to acutally work, that's a challenge on its own, one I'll try to attack tomorrow monring. For now I'll flip through this Unix for the Impatient book and try to figure out more basic commands. It's a lot of work, setting up an alternative operating system. I mean, I've worked with macs for years, barely even touched a pc. Then I found a pentium 133 case on the street, got someone to test it for me, and finally took up my friend's suggestion to install a unix on it. I must say that making this machine behave has been a complete pain in the ass. On the other hand, I've been having a lot of fun screwing around with it, tons more fun than I did messing with stuff like photoshop on my old powerpc. Anyway, thanks for all of the help, and I'm sure you'll be hearing lots more from me over the next couple of months. thanks again, alissa To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
