You need to get the packages :

FreeType-XXX.tgz
XFree86-4.XX.tgz

Download those PACKAGES from
ftp.<yourcountry>freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386/packages-4.2-release

Install both with 'pkg_add FreeType-XXX.tgz' and 'pkg_add XFree86-4-XX.tgz'
Use pkg_info to verify the install.

Run the X11 configuration program.

When there are other packeges needed pkg_add will report those, get them as well
and install them.

Good Luck
Arjan
