 That's either on the attempt to mount the root filesystem, or at
 system startup.
 
 Can you already switch to VTY2 (Alt-F2), and see sysinstall messages
 there?
 
 There used to be a BIOS stack corruption problem in FreeBSD 2.1.5, can
 you try a more recent boot floppy (2.2-BETA) to see if the problem has
 been fixed there?
