It might be as simple as a runaway process. This user was logged on and perhaps forgot to log off when he turned his pc off. I've had similar processes on my systems, and I just kill the pid. Do a 'ps auxww |more' and see if there is a process taking up a lot of %CPU or %MEM. It may appear there.
