I didn't say that Will tried to do this, I said thats one of the things
that MAINTAINER traditionally meant and that it didn't apply to make(1).

The commit had nothing to do with Will, it had everything to do with 
the fact that make(1) doesn't need a maintainer.

On a side note, if it did have a maintainer, I'd like it to be one that
tries to build a kernel, world, and a module or two with every (even
seemingly insignificant) change.
