Patch seems to have not made it to the freebsd-ports list.

Better to include the patch inline rather than MIME attachment.

But I was unable to build cups-base 1.7.2 and am holding out for 1.7.3, available upstream (www.cups.org) since May 27.

I need this cups for print/hplip and some web browsers too.

I see it has no maintainer (ports@FreeBSD.org).

Is updating to 1.7.3 something I could do, or would it be practically impossible to get right with modifications necessary to run in BSD?

One computer (MSI Z77 MPOWER) motherboard is very tricky for Internet connection with FreeBSD.

Actually Hiro H50191 USB-stick wireless adapter is tricky; Ethernet consistently fails to connect with (Free, Open and DragonFly)BSD but good with Linux, NetBSD and Haiku.

Other computer (MSI Z68MA-ED55(B3) motherboard) Ethernet works consistently with FreeBSD beginning with 9.0-BETA1.

Tom
