The copy from:

  ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/setiathome/setiathome-3.03.i386-unknown-freebsd2.2.8.tar

is at statically linked a.out binary, which doesn't require any
shared-library support; so no-compat libraries need be installed.

Cheers.
