Dima, this isn't about whether you didn't do due diligence.  My comments
relate more to what happens when we identify in hindsight that, even
though a change has been through all the right channels, it wasn't such
a hot idea.

But...

It wasn't about the interface, it was about the fact that the effects
were more far-reaching than originally anticipated.

However, I see your point about the affected programs being
crypto-dependency candidates.
