On Digital Unix, the term (decterm) windows are scrollable. This is useful for long listings etc. (Solaris also has command and shell tool windows ... one is scrollable, one is not). I've checked the FBSD ports under X but haven't seen a replacement xterm that is scrollable ... is there one ? Also, on Digital Unix, system messages are sent to the Console window, and only that window. On my FBSD box, I have opened one 'xconsole' window, and 3 xterms and all 4 receive console messages (eg. "login by root..",etc).
