Nope, only /usr/include and possiably /usr/X11R6/include (but probably
not).  I think you may need to define CFLAGS before configure or
possibaly do something like --with-xmms=3D/usr/local though that should
either be documented in the INSTALL or README files or be buried in the
configure script itself.
