as far as I know, the hardware RAID controller that is in the PowerEdge
4300 (an adaptec/dell model) is *not* supported by FreeBSD, at least not
yet, I know DPT controllers are supported, and I know someone was working
on Mylex drivers. Maybe investing in a RAID controller or a scsi-to-scsi
RAID unit? does linux support these controllers? it seemed rather cutting
edge (but then linux is usually bleeding edge)
