This is a FAQ; you have a geometry mismatch.

Make sure the BIOS on the card is set for 2GB mode, make sure sysinstall 
detects a */128/32 geometry.  8GB mode doesn't work (my fault, will be 
fixed once I get my lab set up and some free time).
