Currently our E-Mail server is getting it's username/password information via NIS from the master. I'm just wonderring if every E-Mail run results in an NIS transfer between machines or if the client machine maintains a cache of this data.

If each mail transfer uses NIS calls, I think I'll be changing the mail machine to the NIS master real quick.
