Dear FreeBSD community. A few weeks ago i installed freebsd on top of my company laptop (DIGITAL 700) using neomagic chipset. Everything worked ok, it even booted from the CD ! But when it came to X server selection i was stuck. Nothing but the 16 color server in 640x400 worked. It came down to lack of support for neomagic chipset. Browsing around Internet gave me a clue of js@mnsinc.com (Jeff Shorey) who actually made a running server on xfree86 on Linux. I grabbed the code and downloaded xfree86 source. The xfree build was painless, but i just could't incorporate jeffs driver. Anyone who mannaged to build one of these ? Or any other clues how to obtain neomagic chipsets running ?
