This is strange! I had to restart my server to install a UPS and after restarting Squid is behaving itself again and works fine. I stopped and restarted squid numerous times, but it had no positive effect. Can someone explain what's happening here? Are there dependencies in FreeBSD that squid needs? I've read the manual in all sorts of places, but can't find anything that pertains to the situation.
