 Well you are not the first one to stumble over this, but its
 all documented in the pkg-message:

 - qemu now uses aio at least for ide dma, so if you get `Bad system call'
 crashes that is because aio is not (kld)loaded.
 ...
 
  So I guess this one can be closed...
