You're not using UNIX; you're using Virtual PC 5.1.

Are you using the Connectix version, or the Microsoft version?

Have you perused the forum for that software for FAQs, and so forth?

Searching google for

  "Virtual PC" freebsd

yeilds many hits...

Basically, you're asking FreeBSD people to diagnose symtoms
demonstrated by Virtual PC...
