Hi Carl, Sure, it would be great if this kind of thing didn't happen (although my guess in this case would be that you're just seeing what happens when a 12Mbps USB can't keep up with a 100Mbps Ethernet, so there's not a whole lot you can do about it :-) At least FreeBSD tells you what's going on, unlike some other operating systems I could name. In any case, VIA seems to have the market for small, cheap, quiet, low power boxen pretty much to themselves with these EPIA boards; a little inconvenience is worth it for a quiet office, IMHO.
