Observed tcpdumps - missed packet with retransmit timeout although no TCP/IP errors were shown on netstat. NIC LEDs paused many times for approx 1 sec. During debug of if_ed.c (printfs, DMA status tests, etc.), noticed wd0 DMA errors????
