Assuming that a user has the proper resource limits set and assuming that the system has sufficient physical memory, what is the maximum amount of physical memory that a process can allocate? In particular, if I have a Tyan K8W (dual opteron platform) with 16 GB of memory, can my numerical simulation allocate up 15+ GB? -- Steve http://troutmask.apl.washington.edu/~kargl/
