I don't know if it will be read-only...I think this will be read/write, but
you'll still be able to get files off of it.  If you are using FreeBSD 4.0
it will be....

#mount_msdos ad0s1 /dir
where dir is the directory you want to mount in under.
Otherwise in FreeBSD 3.x it would be...
#mount_msdos wd0s1 /dir
