It is not true that FAT32 and FAT16 cannot coexist. If you have a partition that is less that 512 MB then that partition will not use FAT32, even if you specify large disk support in fdisk.exe. FreeBSD can install from a FAT32 formatted disk. You should probably be getting 2.2.8, but you'll have to check for older versions.
