Spidey, I agree!  Nightmare to get soundbastard PNP to work under
FreeBSD.  I can post my config if you want to compare notes.  

Basically, I used the standard pnp, snd, and all the sb* devices
in my kernel, just like you.  I am sure the Luigi drivers work too,
but I wanted to stay as close to the 'standard' config as possible.
