Can you capture the build output, along with the errors, and post them?
If you are using a Bourne-style shell (sh, bash, zsh), you can do that
with the following command:

	make clean all install 2>&1 | tee build.log
=09
If you are using a C-style shell (csh, tcsh), use:

	make clean all install |& tee build.log

It is very hard for us to know just what is wrong on your end; I have
just built both gd and gd2 here, on a 4.7-PRERELEASE system.  Thanks in
advance for the build log information :)
