Maybe you should contact their marketing department and note that,
between  Linux, FreeBSD, and NetBSD, your work goes to a HUGE share
of their market and an overwhelming s hare of the Internet world (since
so many Web, news, and mail servers run these OSes). With luck, they'll
recognize the importance of this code and put you in touch with the
engineers.
