You may have better luck posting this announcement to
freebsd-hackers@freebsd.org.  You will probably get the message across
to more people who would be interested in seeing these kinds of
improvements.  Something like this could easily get lost in the noise
on freebsd-questions@freebsd.org.

freebsd-fs@freebsd.org might also be an appropriate list for this.
