No. It is not natd, the role of natd is to replace the inernal
IP address of each packet for the external address so it can travel
on the Internet.

routed or gated for that matter exchange routes with your neigbors
(topologically speaking) but for a simple network like yours or mine
we only need to declare a default route and that is enough.
