OK, I'm throwing together a little documentation on the installation procedure here, and I've come across a small problem... I can't find any instructions anywhere on what preparation you need to install from a local filesystem; everything else is pretty nicely covered, but I don't see this. Am I missing a critical document here, or is there really no explanation of how one would go about this, in general terms?
