Why not just use the ports collection to install Apache, DEs, etc?
'make install'

For example, I went to install apache today. I had to search the mailing
list archives to find a list of steps to follow in order to install it.
That's great!

But then apache reports that I must have DES first. Not a problem. But
I've just spend two hours trying to find instructions on how to install
DES. I've found nothing. It's so frustrating!

I can't be the only one that finds this difficult to the extreme of
frustration. I can follow instructions. If only the instructions are
there to be found.

arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!

I'm off for a bike ride. This is too much.
