Hmm, yes. Fiddling in etc/fstab and /etc/rc.d/initdiskless didn't help. 
Where am I expected to fiddle to enable this ?

Browsig through archives I learned this was told me once before; I 
already thought -L sounded sooo familiar... Thanks for pointing me once 
again :-)
