In the San Francisco Bay Area, I've used www.centralcomputer.com. If the components you buy are over $1000, they build it for you, and you pick it up. They have three stores in the area and prices on-line. I think these prices are not the lowest possible, but they're pretty good. I got mine built without an os, a mouse, a keyboard; and this is okay with them.
