it may have Compaq "system's utilities partition" on it.  There's a 
few cylinders I can't grab with fbsd's fdisk.

Knowing it booted fbsd just fine previouosly, I haven't tried 
anything but freebsd in this box. good idea, I'll try to trash the 
disk with NT4 and then try fbsd.
